I'd say a change in management but I'm not sure anyone is actually managing anyone. Vortex Spring Diving Center is a SCUBA Dive Resort and so much more This is an entertainment complex that is sure to please your whole family. This place is in dire need of management. This is not the beautiful place I remember from my childhood 20 years ago. There is abandoned heavy equipment all over the place that was seemingly just left where it broke ages ago, one of which has its bucket arm IN the spring to stop it from sliding in. There was lots of trash including dirty diapers, food, wrappers, plastic, and cans all over the "beach" area along the spring. It is the largest diving facility in the state of Florida. ![]() Where to Host Camtasia Videos with Captions ![]() I also explain how to add captions in Camtasia 8 and how to get the text from a script ready to paste in the caption window. I’m answering one of our student’s questions for Camtasia captioning tips. Here is an excerpt from one of our weekly Screencast Video Coaching sessions. I’ve been using it a lot this past year for several clients who need to add them for accessibility. If you have Camtasia then you may have noticed that they have a “Captions” feature. Tips for Using the Add Captions Feature in Camtasia Your videos will be a found a lot more easily by people, and the Google search bots, if there is a text version of the narration that accompanies it.Īnd lastly, Facebook videos may autoplay on someone’s timeline but the audio is muted, therefore adding captions may be the only way to get the viewer’s attention and engage them enough to turn on the audio feature. Subtitles are also great for search engine optimization. Fro example, I’m learning how to crochet hats and found a bunch of videos that were recorded in Italian but because they had captions I was able to easily follow them. Subtitles and closed captions open up your content to a larger audience, those who speak languages besides the one spoken in your video. However, some people prefer to turn off all audio and read the text (or perhaps they don’t have speakers or headphones) so it’s not just an issue of accessibility. It’s used to help those who are deaf and can’t hear the audio follow along with the course’s narration. ![]() Generally speaking, closed captioning text accompanies the audio narration in your online videos. So are some of the things we discussed… Why Add Captions to Your Videos? Who would have thought there would be so much interest around this? I mean, video captions are nice and all but this discussion went on for days. Last month we had a lively discussion in our Facebook site about adding captions to a video course. I hope that helps.A Mini Guide to Video Captions in Camtasia and YouTube You can add a new caption at the start for any audio in the new intro. In this example, we’re shifting everything from the very first caption, so make sure the first line is selected on the list. Under the video menu, you’re opening your new video. In Camtasia, make sure you see a white arrow when you click and shift, so you’re moving all the captions and not accidentally moving an individual caption start or end time.Īnother option is a free captioning program called Subtitle Edit. Some of them are more functional, and some of them are more reliable. Keep in mind that digital notepads do not have an equal set of characteristics. You might also want to check out the ReMarkable 2 tablet review. To select the best electronic notepad, specify your needs and determine the most important features of your future purchase. It won’t gain wider appeal until the above issues are addressed, but within that niche it’ll likely find a dedicated fanbase. Look at the Venn diagram of crowdfunding prospectors, artists and paper enthusiasts, and the potential market for the Remarkable exists in that small area of intersection. ![]() In its defense, the Remarkable isn't intended to replace devices running those operating systems, but with its high price tag it may struggle to find an audience that’s not already well catered for with traditional tablet tech. Its USP is well realized, as it's one of best digital drawing and note-taking devices out there – provided you’re happy to work in monochrome, with the benefits and drawbacks its screen dictates.īut its software needs a lot of work to be considered feature-complete – and that’s before considering the mountains of iOS and Android apps it’ll never be able to support. The Remarkable tablet is a curious device then. You may miss full color control if you want to create more vibrant artworks, but if it's line work you’re interested in, it ticks the boxes. Basil, TechRadar's resident artist, felt instantly at home with the Remarkable, declaring it the best non-paper device he’d scribbled on, at least in terms of the pen-to-page feel. Combined with the multiple pen styles on offer, you have a full range of writing and drawing options at your disposal. What can’t be knocked, though, is the feel of the pen on the screen itself. That’s fine for what you'll be doing on the device, although the relatively slow speed of page refreshes can frustrate. The Remarkable tablet makes use of a 1GHz ARM A9 CPU, backed up by 512MB of RAM. All of the above and more are said to be in the works for the coming months, but the Remarkable would have felt a much more comprehensive device had it left the blocks with all these features baked in. Simple things like USB file transfer are missing, and there’s no bookstore for getting commercial content onto the device.Ī few more features, such as handwriting recognition and third-party cloud service support are the sort of features that could really widen the usefulness and appeal of this tablet. It’s hard to shake the feeling that there’s lots left to come in terms of the Remarkable tablet’s software. It feels a bit like busywork, and it's surprising that this stage isn’t integrated into the tablet itself. You’ll need to head online to set up a Remarkable account, which then gives you a code which you need to input into the tablet to link you account to it. The set-up process for the cloud services could be streamlined too. Those looking for the wide app support of iOS or Android tablets will be left wanting though – the Remarkable serves a very specific purpose. It’s simple, and you’ll quickly be able to navigate its functions upon opening it up. Buttons at the top of the interface let you create new folders, notebooks and quick sketch sheets with a single tap.Īll these elements can be viewed in a grid or list format. From the home screen, a right-hand pane lets you jump to hubs for your entire file collection, your individual notebooks, single documents, your ebook library and your bookmarked pages. The Remarkable tablet runs its own OS, which is focused on sketching, reading and organizing your sheets into notebooks and folders. There’s also a simple, sold-separately felt carry case for the Remarkable, which includes a slot for slipping the pen into, with the pen’s clip itself sliding out to reveal a compartment for storing a backup nib. One nice touch is that there are slightly-raised rubberized strips on the rear, preventing the tablet from slipping on a table when in use. With the white-fronted casing and chrome rear, it’s a clean design overall. These original panels are nearly obsolete today as they are not WAAS functional or ADS-B compliant, and factory support is nearly non-existent. The original Meridian shipped from the factory with an admittedly inferior panel. ![]() As you add upgrades, paint, updated interior and new avionics, the trading price will go up. An early 2001 Meridian with no upgrades, original avionics and average airframe/engine times will trade for just under $650k. Today, the earlier Meridians are regularly trading at an average of about $750k. It is comfortable, quiet and a real performer. The no-wind range of a Meridian with full fuel tanks is about 750 nm (with reserves). The Meridian will cruise at FL280 at an average of 265 KTAS and burn 39 gallons of jet fuel each hour. With cabin-class seating, a huge panel for all the latest gadgets and the bulletproof PT6 turbine engine up front, the Meridian is a fabulous airplane. Based on the successful Malibu/Mirage airframe, which was built explicitly with pressurization in mind, the Meridian was a natural progression upward for the piston pilot who wanted to go higher and faster. The Meridian first came out in 2001 as the first turbine ever created by Piper Aircraft. They both accomplish the same mission, albeit with a few differences. Why? They are both super cross-country machines that attract buyers who want the latest and greatest avionics, who will not compromise on safety, and who want something newer. ![]() You’d think these two airplanes would never end up on the same want list, but they do. The Cirrus SR22T is a four-place, composite construction, piston, non-pressurized, fixed-gear airplane. The Piper Meridian is a six-place, aluminum construction, turbine, pressurized, retractable gear airplane. By the way, I really do love getting feedback from readers of my articles! This article is proof that Twin & Turbine will respond to their readers’ requests. I’ve also received an unusually high number of email requests from readers of this magazine to compare the two airplanes. Very different but commonly contrasted by potential buyers. ![]() Interestingly, when pilots come to me seeking advice on their next airplane, they often have two very different airplanes on their radar: the Piper Meridian and the Cirrus SR22T. ![]() Hence, I get lots of phone calls about this particular move up. But, when you are ready to stroke a three-quarter-million dollar check, you don’t want to make a mistake. Most of these pilots have already done a lot of homework, scouring Trade-a-Plane and talking with their local pilot community. In fact, helping this type of pilot is one of the most satisfying aspects of my scope of work. As an active instructor in the owner-flown market, I am able to fly a lot of cool airplanes and offer no shortage of opinions. You now possess the complete package of skills, credentialing, desire and a $750,000 budget to buy and fly an airplane with an abundance of capability. What started as an expensive hobby with little practicality for actually going somewhere with any questionable weather is being viewed in a new light. You’ve been flying for a while now, have a pilot’s license and instrument rating, filled your first logbook, started the second, and are ready to move up. Let’s say you need a cross-country machine that will carry you, three others and bags to the destination with style, safety and speed. ![]() Any other mode is to be used only when #Accessing vncserver via SSH tunnels.Īny number of clients can connect to a vncserver. ![]() When running vncviewer, it is safer to explicitly set SecurityTypes and not accept any unencrypted traffic.
